Preschool Field Trip - Louisiana Style!

For the end-of-year field trip for Joshua's preschool - we went to visit an
Alligator Farm!!

This man was a conservationist who helps the alligator population.  He told us more about alligators than I ever knew!  The little 3, 4 and a few 5 yr. olds were pretty patient while he taught us a LOT.  There are 4 different kinds of alligators in the world, and 3 of them were there.  The 4th is very rare and endangered.

We got to see a video about how they get the alligator eggs, while fending off protective mama alligator - in order to bring her babies to the farm, so that they will have a better chance of surviving to adulthood.

Everyone got to pet this alligator - and a little baby one too.
(I did not!)

Joshua was all for it though!

Here is his class picture - with his teacher (Mrs. Penny) in the middle.
She was Jacob's preschool teacher when he was Joshua's age (so sweet)!

Speaking of sweet - look at that expression.
Preschoolers are too cute.

This has been Joshua's very best friend in preschool - Elliot.

After we all ate at picnic tables under big shady trees - all the kiddos got to feed the catfish in the pond.

Alligators and catfish??  Sounds like the menu at many New Orleans restaurants!!
