Hair Days

This is the longest I have let my hair grow in....years.

Instinctively, I think I need a haircut.
As soon as it gets to my shoulders, I want it off.

I have the distinct image that once a woman is somewhere in her 30's, long hair should be out.
And not that it is long, but look what I can do now!

I can't yet decide whether to cut if off, or let it grow a bit more.
For now, it is nice to just twirl it up and clip it, instead of blow-drying it, flat-ironing it, and taking up my time.

Besides, my hubby is kinda liking it...

Pink???

Some women love shoes. Now, of course I need them, and want them to match my clothes, but getting a new pair of shoes does not thrill me.

Purses, on the other hand, THRILL me. I could get a new purse every couple of months. (Not that I do, but I could)

A purse is feels very personal for some reason. Of course I use it everyday, so it has to be functional - organized.

And it has to be just right. I am very particular about what kind of purse I like. It has to have lots of compartments. How do women have these purses where everything is just dumped together in one compartment? I can't fathom that - not past like 6th grade anyway - when all I had in my purse was chap stick, old bubble gum, and maybe a pen.

It has to have a compartment for my cell phone, and one for my keys. If I have to go digging around for them, I will never find them.

Anyway, one thing that I tend to do is pick the same styles over and over, with slight variations - all with many compartments.

Almost all are black or brown. You can't go wrong with those, right?

In the past year, I did buy my first red purse. (So out there - lol - for me!)

The other day, me and Jalyn and Joshua were shopping in the mall. I found a purse I loved. Soft leather, expensive (before the sale price), all my necessary compartments - just perfect.

Except there were only 2 left. A black one and a pink one.

Well, usually there would be no question as to which one I should pick. But for some reason, I could hear a little voice saying - "You always buy black - choose something different!"

It was Jalyn. But really, I could hear it in myself as well!

I couldn't decide for many minutes. I wanted to stick with what I knew would work - but instead went with the pink one.

I was a little worried I made the wrong choice - once I got home.

But now am happy I went with the pink one.

Even I have to step out of my comfort zone (rut) every now and again!

New On The Menu

Earrings!

I'm never buying earrings again! (At least I will try not to!)

Making them is too simple!

I bought the stuff to work on them last week, and sat down last night to see if I could figure it out. Oh my gosh - it is so simple! And quick!

Now, I know there are a lot more ideas I will need - to try different things, but for now, I love these!

I had Jalyn pick whatever beads she wanted so I could make her a "designer" pair.
She chose a silver butterfly, a pink bead, a silver ball and a clear bead.

The finished product:

Now, the lovely Jalyn models her new earrings.

Now me. I made a pair to match one of my favorite bracelets.

I made a few more to go with a few bracelets I have already made.

So fun - and pretty!

Burning the Midnight Oil

I have been up for the past 2 nights - pretty late, "whipping up" more bracelets. After my initial burst of energy - when I made my first 10 or so, I slowed down for a little while. I love all of them, and wear a different one everyday.

But.... Where do I do from here? I don't see myself getting a booth in a craft fair. I don't know why, but no for now. I can see having a little "show" in my house.

I will have to make a lot more if and when I decide to do that. The hard part so far is that I love them so much, there are certain ones that are hard to part with! I need to just make duplicates of the ones I love.

So far, I've made a few with wire, and all I get from that is sore fingertips. I'm serious - my thumb still hurts from 2 nights ago, trying to bend and "work" with the wire. You obviously need good tools - which I have one, and I wouldn't say it is a good one!

Anyway, I love making them, and love thinking of new "designs". I love dainty jewelry, so a lot of what I have made suits my taste. I was thinking last night though that people have varied tastes, so I should try something different, even if it's not exactly my style. (That way they will be easier to part with!! Ha Ha!)

These are all the ones I have made for the past 2 nights.

There seems to be no way to capture the detail or how pretty they really are, or the colors in them. So, I have to settle for these pics for now.

This one is my favorite right now - it's got little silver dragonflies on it (and the dark beads are a deep red brown).

Okay, now let me go crawl around on the floor and find the beads I dropped last night!
