A Snippet of My Day

Studying....studying.....studying.....

Cutting power-point into flash cards

More studying and reading....

 Memorizing James 3:17-18
With a method that helps me more than any other.
Just by writing the first letter of every word in the verse.
Makes me have to think!

LOVING this book...

Lunch alone.
But never alone....

January Flies By

Where has this month gone?  Wasn't the tree just up?  The gifts yet opened?
And here it is, January gone.

I will admit to being happy about that.  Not a favorite month of mine, by any means.
Always the let down after the holidays, the packing up of decorations,
the expectations of new beginnings/changes, the in-between of winter and spring.

February tomorrow.
My month of love.  Not the 14th, but the 9th.  The day me and my hubby celebrate our
20th Wedding Anniversary
!!!!!!!

Bits of my January:

Green budding flowers.  The anticipation of what will spring up.

Spring semester brings Anatomy and Physiology 2.

We begin with the blood.  It is interesting, but somehow, my old study habits haven't kicked into gear yet.
Savored my time off too much perhaps.  My first quiz is Thursday morning - I need find my study momentum....once again.

Memorizing Colossians this year.  Going over and over these verses -
again, finding studying so hard.   I bring them with me - many carpool moments to practice.

I want His Word in my heart...

Also in those carpool moments -  enjoying one of the many books.

The beginning of the year brought me the challenge of reading through God's Word - finding the right reading plan.  I have tried different plans, and have failed.  I have tried just opening wherever, and have failed.

And this time, I find what works, for me.

I began in Genesis, and daily read as much as I can - lingering over it.  Journaling about it.
Reading it along with a commentary at times.

Weaving in and out of the Old Testament and the New Testament, checking off what I have done -
seeing what I have left.  Not being too hard on myself, the days I miss - but catching up when I do.
Loving it.

Goodbye January :)

Memory Verse for July 1st

In light of this "dieting" thing, and the pressures of school, I searched for the fitting verse. One I can cling to, instead of a cookie (that I so desperately want, by the way).

It is Galations 6:9

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Now, I know that Paul was not talking about food, or school in that chapter, but he was talking about being tempted, and reaping what you sow. And those two things, I can apply to what I am presently dealing with.

Okay, I am off for a run.... (walk/run)

Memory Verse for the 15th

"Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom."

Psalm 90:7

What this verse speaks to me right now, is that I need to prioritize what is really important each and every day.

It means that if I want the wisdom from God I crave - then I'd better do something about it (reading my bible more often and not putting other things over my time with Him in prayer).

It means with school starting for me soon, that I may need to adjust my day. I may need to stop doing some unnecessary things to make the time I will need for schoolwork and studying.

It means let me be aware that our days here are fleeting - to spend my energy and thoughts on what truly matters in this life - loving God and loving others.

Feb. 15th memory verse

Okay, for now, this template is growing on me.

Maybe it's the tree. HaHa

Here's my memory verse for this two weeks:

Whether you turn to the right or to the left,
your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,
"This is the way; walk in it."

Isaiah 30:21

New Memory Verse

My memory verse for the first half of February:

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths,
but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs,
that it may benefit those who listen."

Eph. 4:29

Oh how I NEED this one.

New Memory Verse

My new memory verse for the next 2 weeks:

"I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
With singing lips my mouth will praise you."

Psalm 63:2-5

I almost chickened out and just did verses 2-3, but I will be stong and memorize the whole thing.

We have the acrostic

R - Read It
E - Examine It
N - NEED IT!
E - Echo It
W - Weild It

to help us remember how to memorize it. The most important one for me is the NEED IT part. If I NEED IT, I will remember it.

Oh my gosh, I just posted this and then reread it, and noticed the date.

January 15th

14 years ago today, I found out I was pregnant with Jacob, after loosing our first baby due to an ectopic pregnancy and a total of 21 months of trying to conceive. It was one of the happiest and scariest days of my life! I was beyond thrilled but beyond scared, after what we had been through 10 months prior.

See - I have beheld His power and glory - and for that, I will praise Him as long as I live!
