Eleven Eleven Eleven

How cool is that?

Love those one once in a lifetime events
11-11-11

Another cool thing??
Today is the first frost of the season here.
I know, places may be knee deep in snow right now -
but since we don't get that here,
this little frost just thrills me!

Love when all the roof tops in the neighborhood are covered in white...
I know, I was meant to live in the North!

Though when I did live in the North - I would have been happy to have had my windshield look like this, as opposed to all the scraping I did back then!

Its those little things - like frost,
a new season,
fireplaces and hot tea and cocoa,
roasting marshmallows and smores ,
holidays around the corner,
that delight me.

And speaking of once in a lifetime events -
so is today.
So this very day,
look for the little things that bring you delight!

I also want to take a moment to thank my hubby for his 21 years of service
to our country this Veterans Day!
And to all those who have served!

Multitudes on Mondays

To live fully, to experience joy, we must give thanks....
Count the many blessings -
all around us.

For flowers blooming on my kitchen table -
daily checking to see new growth, new bloom, purple expanding

For a trip to the "country" - a visit to my parents "weekend getaway"

Walks on trails -
with dogs following
and leaves crunching underfoot

A visit to see the neighbors' chickens and roosters

Farmfresh eggs - a dozen to take home
green, blue, beige, spotted :)
none of them white

Winter thick bunny

Nesting chickens

A most beautiful day.
The kind you wish went on forever-
the weather you wish was every day.

Brilliant blue skies
and windmills

Me, happy....

My mothers' towels.
Worn and always happy mixmatched
A rainbow of colors

Littlest happy as can be,
playing in mud and sunshine all day :)

A Very Happy Thanksgiving

It was our first Thanksgiving at our house - with extended family - usually we go to their houses!

Our table almost set

The sweetest plates and napkins I found at Hobby Lobby

My hubby cutting the turkey

My niece Hailey and Jalyn - (Hailey trying on Jalyn's spare glasses - so they can be "twins")

Me and my hubby

Joshua trying to fill up on chips

He is succeeding, since Mama and Daddy are occupied!

All the nieces and nephews - being sooo good!

So grateful for wonderful family - for the many blessings of God....

Content

"The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;  Yes, I have a good inheritance."
Psalm 16:6

Though there are many things vying to steal my focus, and problems will always come, arrows to be dodged, I choose for these moments to pause.

To look around.  See the children all home?  Everyone content?  Bellies filled with home-cooked dinner.  No homework on this Friday.  Oldest strumming and singing his guitar.  Rain falls outside.  The house so cozy and safe.

I choose for these moments to savor what truly matters.

Hold onto what is dear.

"Let your conduct be without covetousness;  be content with such things as you have.  For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5
