Our Mardi Gras Break

It's already Friday, which I normally love, but that means that our vacation week is almost over, and the kids will be back in school on Monday. I love when they are off, and at home with me. They of course love this too.
Over this past week, we have went to 2 of our neices birthday parties, one parade, a crawfish boil at my parent's house, CiCi's Pizza (kids favorite), and tomorrow my Mom will be here to babysit for our anniversary.
The parade we went to was Selene. It was Joshua's first parade, and it was at night, and very cold. I thought he would be freaked out by the noise and sights. He loved it. Before the parade started, he loved the fact that there were no cars and took the opportunity to run down the road into the crowds, with me chasing close behind. Everyone who knows Joshua knows that he LOVES TRAINS!!! Well, we should have guessed what he thought every float was - a "CHOO-CHOO"!!! He yelled that out with every passing float!! It was too cute! He really didn't care that they threw anything, as long as he could see the CHOO-CHOO'S!
Jacob and Jalyn has fun as well. A friend of Jacob's and her Mom saw us and ended us staying with us, so Jacob had a friend. Unfortunately, what always happens to Jalyn happened again. Smack! Right in the face with beads. She always gets hurt!
In the past week and 1/2, Joshua has begun to say more words than I can keep up with. If he wants to, he will repeat almost anything you try to get him to say now. Clay taught him to say "Kris-tee". Though he doesn't know it' me yet. It's amazing how in just a few short days, things can change so much with his speech development. If he turns out like Jalyn, within a few short months we will wonder why we wanted him to talk so badly!
