Flu - Fly

About 2 weeks ago, Joshua began having a low grade fever, then he started coughing. That lasted for about 5 days. No runny nose, no misery. Just that low grade fever that would come and go and come again - and a cough that was worse at night, but not ever bad enough for me to take him to the doctor.

Then...

A a few days after Joshua got better, Jacob began coughing and had fever. Also had a miserable stuffy/runny nose. In 2 days he must have gone through 4 boxes of tissues.

He mostly sat around looking like this:

Sometimes like this:

He checked out of school last Monday - that is when it began. Clay took him to the doctor and he tested positive for the flu.

Everytime his fever would go away, and we would think that perhaps he was getting better - it would come back again. Over and over. This past weekend, he was just as bad as when it first started. I took him to the doctor yesterday (6th missed day of school) - he now has an ear infection and a sinus infection. So, now he is on antibiotics, Motrin, Sudafed, Mucinex and nasal spray. I think that's it. Whew!

Jalyn also began getting sick on Friday. She had fever, a cough and runny nose. She started off with a lot of coughing - so by day 2, her stomach muscles hurt so bad. She always gets better so much sooner than her brother. By yesterday, (after only 4 days), she was feeling so much better - and went to school today.

Jacob has so many assignments to make up - which is not going to be fun (for either of us), and I feel so bad about all the missed in-class learning time. Hopefully he will catch up easily.

Somehow me and Clay managed to escape. So thankful for that! There would be no stopping school for me if I got it.
