To Be Wholly His

Living Proof Live - New Orleans 2009 from Rich Kalonick on Vimeo.

Well, let me just start off by saying, (and I quote Beth Moore when I say this):

"There ain't no high, like the MOST HIGH!"

The weekend conference in New Orleans was wonderful! Me and a bunch of friends all rode together to the New Orleans Arena Friday evening. It was just awesome.

We got there on Friday around 6 pm. We didn't get home until around 11! (There was traffic on the way back.) We got up early Sat. morning, met at the church at 7 am, rode through a McD's drive through for coffee, then arrived at the arena around 7:45. We got home around 1:30 Saturday.

The topic of the weekend was based on the passages in 1 Thessalonians 5: 12-24. With particular emphasis on verses 16-18:

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

And 23-24:

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

There were 7 main points to her message. At points 5 through 7 I began to cry and just couldn't stop till the end. (Not sobbing - just tears falling) It was just very emotional and touching. And those points so spoke to me.

1. The essence of holiness is wholeness. (vs. 23)
Being wholly devoted to Him - with our whole mind, our whole body and our whole soul. Letting Him permeate every part of us.

2. I can't be a whole person without other people. (vs. 12-15)
How the people in our lives are there to complete us. How we can't just shut ourselves off from everyone, or even in bible study.

3. Wholeness releases persistent joy. (vs. 16)
We have a choice in the matter - we can choose joy. We can make a personal commitment to joy. We are blessed, adopted in His family, forgiven, changed, redeemed - our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life - Rejoice in Him!

4. Wholeness relates through persistent prayer. (vs. 17)
Living life in a God conscious state. How if you stay vague with God in prayer, you will never know the joy of a life of answered prayer. Not to just pray about the "big" things - but all things. How you will see what God will do in your life - and He will thrill you!

5. Wholeness reacts with persistent thanks. (vs. 18)
To give thanks in all circumstances (not necessarily for them). It is God's will for us. He is always up to something - even in the hardest of circumstances. She talked about waking up and feeling what is in your hand - that He has a better plan - and that He cannot be up to something bad in your life.

6. Where I lack wholeness I lack protection. (vs. 23)
There is relief in letting God take over - we cannot manage our marriage, or our children, or whatever it is, on our own. We don't have to try. Let it go and let Him take over. How if you have an area uncovered (by Him), the enemy will shoot right for it every time.

7. God is wholly faithful and I am found holy in Him. (vs. 24)
Through the worst pain, just believe Him. God is faithful, do not give up. He is worthy of our trust. Let Him minister to you, and heal you, then use you (to help others). Whatever we are going through, we can ask, "Are you even with me God? Are you there?" and the answer will always be, "Yes, I am." Choose to trust Him, He will come through for you. He will be faithful!

A dark picture I took of her on stage:

Oh how I want to be Wholly His.

She ended with these verses from Isaiah 25: 6-9. (And you will see partly why my tears kept falling.)

"On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine -
the best meats and the finest of wines.
On this mountain He will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
He will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears
from all faces;
He will remove the disgrace of His people
from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.
In that day they will say,
"Surely this is our God;
We trusted in Him, and He saved us.
This is the Lord, we trusted in Him;
let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation
."
